Blackwood is very well located,
situated as it is, so close to the superb amenities of Bangor.
At the same time, it makes an ideal base
from which to explore the outstanding natural beauty of
Counties Down and Antrim.

The good dual carriageway roads linking
Bangor and Belfast, allow for a very easy drive of
around 20 mins. Access to the City Airport, Docks and
Mainline Railway Station, therefore, is superb.
Belfast International Airport is about another 25 minutes on.

Bangor is no distance from anywhere!

Ferries:,
Belfast
Northern Ireland is well served by Ferries. From Belfast Docks, approx 30 minutes drive from Blackwood House, regular fast services go to Stranraer and Troon in Scotland; Heysham, Liverpool and Douglas in the Isle of Man.
Larne
Alternatively, ferries to Cairnryan in Scotland and Fleetwood in England may be taken from Larne. On the Antrim coast, with good motorway and A road links to Belfast and Bangor, Larne is approx 50 minutes drive from Bangor and Blackwood House.

Rail Stations:,
Bangor:
Bangor railway station is just 4 or 5 minutes drive from Blackwood House, with a fast (approx 15-20 minutes) and frequent train service to Belfast.
Belfast:
There are four main services from Belfast Central Station. North to Londonderry, via Ballymena and Colraine; North-East to Larne; East to Bangor and South to Dublin. With eight trains daily, the Belfast-Dublin express, takes just 2 hours. A free bus service takes passengers from the station into Belfast City Centre.

Buses:
Bangor
Ulsterbus Numbers B5, B6 and B7, all stop just 20 yards from the entrance to the Blackwood House driveway. A 10 minute trip, takes you past the main shopping streets, terminating at the Bus Station, next to the Bangor Rail Station. The Ulsterbus network is extensive, with good express links to towns not serviced by rail.
